Gut Check Promotions

Gut Check Promotions, also known as Gut Check Championship series, is a premier combat sports including, Muay Thai and Kickboxing, event organizer that got its start in Wilmington, Delaware. Founded in September of 2009 by Gregg Pritchett, Gut Check initially hosted most of its events at MVJ Athletics, a gym founded by Grand Master Robert Evans, who had encouraged Pritchett to start the organization.

With support from other leaders in the community, such as longtime friend Jack Murphy. Gut Check began to grow and expanded to between 2 and 4 events per year. In 2018, Gut Check experienced a significant milestone, featuring professional fighters in a sold-out show that pitted super heavyweights Bazooka Joe Stripling Vs Cowboy Heath Harris. This event marked a turning point for Gut Check, which had previously focused on showcasing up-and-coming talent.

Despite a pause in 2020 due to the pandemic, Gut Check was encouraged to come back stronger than ever by Rami Ibrahim of Rami Elite and Freedom Fighter Promotions. Today, Gut Check Promotions features between 6 to 8 Kickboxing and Muay Thai events per year and aims to give fighters in different areas outside of Wilmington a chance to compete by hosting events in other locations, such as North Carolina & South Carolina.

With a commitment to sportsmanship, athleticism, and community engagement, Gut Check provides a high-quality platform for fighters to showcase their skills. Whether you’re an experienced fan of combat sports or a newcomer to the scene, Gut Check Promotions offers an unparalleled experience that’s sure to leave you on the edge of your seat.
